Job Description

Welcome to Tiny Hoppers!Full-time/Part-time/Supply ECA positions available for our Barrie location. We are looking for individuals that are energetic, dynamic and crafty, but most of all LOVE working with children.Summary: Tiny Hoppers opened its doors in January 2005 in Ottawa, Ontario. By being recognized as a premier, award-winning Early Learning Centre, we have attracted attention both nationally and internationally, and we have expanded to Barrie. Our focus is to provide children with a safe, fun and unique play environment.Responsibilities:

  • Working alongside the RECE in supervision, safety and well-being of the children in care during daily activities, field trips, special events, outdoor programming
  • Following regulations set out by the Ministry of Education and Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit
  • Assisting in ensuring the Child Care and Early Years Act and Tiny Hoppers Early Learning Centre policies and procedures are adhered to
  • Greet all children and guardians upon arrival and departure daily
  • Liaise with the RECE, co-workers/other staff/volunteers and Director/Supervisor
  • Communicate any concerns or issues to the RECE, Director/Supervisor immediately
  • Assisting with all programs while keeping the individual needs of the children in mind
  • Assist in preparing programs and setting up the environment ahead of time
  • Assisting with observations and documentation daily to support and promote physical, cognitive, emotional and social development
  • Providing opportunities for self-expression through a variety of mediums
  • Communicating with families through Tiny Hoppers corresponding methods; establishing and maintaining a warm and supportive professional relationship
  • Assisting in ensuring the day to day operations of the classroom, playground, and routines are followed
  • Maintaining a clean, healthy, safe, organized, welcoming and stimulating environment for the children within the class and Centre
  • Ensuring that all documents are signed off on daily and throughout your day
  • Attending monthly staff meetings
  • Professional development training/workshops
  • Attend special events hosted by Tiny Hoppers as required
  • Available to work various shifts between 7:00 am and 6:00 pm
Qualifications:
  • Valid Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Screen
  • Valid Standard First Aid/CPR Level C (infant/child)
  • Working knowledge of the CCEYA and licensing act
  • Familiar with “How Does Learning Happen”
  • Experience working with children ages 0 months - 5 years
  • Up to date immunizations (Tetanus and MMR)
  • Medically fit to work letter
  • Workers Health and Safety Awareness Certificate
  • Food Handlers Certificate preferred
