Job Description

RVH is looking for a Patient Care Assistant (PCA) to support the Medicine Program. As the PCA you will assist with the provision of patient care and the efficient operation of the unit/area under the direction of a health care professional. You will assess, plan, coordinate and manage care of patients and families in conjunction with an interdisciplinary team and according to hospital and department policies and procedures. This role is a Medicine Program Float position, and will be required to float/As a qualified candidate you will have the following job requirements:

  • Completed a recognized program for personal support worker
  • Current Basic Rescuer Certificate in Basic Cardiac Life support
  • Member of the Ontario Personal Support Worker Association (OPSWA) and/or Personal Support Network of Ontario (PSNO) an asset
  • Previous patient care experience in hospital environment or health related community work, preferred
  • Basic computer skills
