Job Description

For over 20 years, Collingwood General & Marine Hospital (CGMH), Georgian Bay General Hospital (GBGH), Headwaters Health Care Centre (HHCC) and Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre (RVH) have been in partnership sharing a single Health Information System (HIS) – Meditech. This group has come to be known as the “Regional ITS Partnership”. With the implementation of Meditech Expanse, RVH has been identified by the partnership as the Lead agency providing regional Meditech support and some other key services. The primary purpose of this partnership of the four hospitals is to improve patient safety and quality of care by promoting and maintaining a one patient, one record vision in our single shared HIS. The Regional ITS Partnership has identified information and technology as key pillar to support a safe and efficient patient experience while driving clinical excellence. We are excited to further expand our team to continue the ongoing support.As a Regional Clinical Practice Standards Lead, you will report to the Director of ITS, Clinical Services. In this position you will serve as liaison between the local partnership hospital (“site”) and the Regional MEDITECH Expanse Team. As part of the Regional ITS team, you will work together with the sites and the ITS leadership team to ensure a smooth and harmonious transition from the CARE4 project governance structure into an operational regional governance structure. with continued focus on regional standards and focus on order set development and approval requirements across all sites. They will also act as the primary point of contact between the hospital sites clinical programs, inter-professional teams and the ITS regional team for oversight of standardization achieved in documentation/order sets/medical directives and Meditech Expanse workflows.You may be assigned to an alternate main site at the discretion of RVH Regional ITS Partnership. You will be required to travel to all sites to support local teams and governance processes, and you may be requested to flex your schedule based on organization requirements, project implementations, and incident management. This may require extended shifts, evenings, nights and/or weekends at times, in order to provide excellent service and support to our hospitals, which are open 24x7x365 as required for this role and responsibilities.QUALIFICATIONSAs a qualified candidate you will have the following job requirements:

  • Baccalaureate Degree in health-related discipline required
  • Current & valid registration in Professional Organization required
  • Membership in discipline-specific Professional Association required
  • Minimum of five years varied clinical practice experience with demonstrated clinical excellence in Professional Practice setting. A current member of the four partner hospitals
  • Informatics experience in Health Information Systems, Meditech experience preferred
  • Previous MEDITECH implementation experience an asset
  • Project Management certification or equivalent experience an asset

  • This role reports to Director of ITS Clinical Services with indirect reporting relationship to the Chief Nursing Executives at all sites in the partnership
  • Ability to positively influence and motivate staff and teams to complete desired actions in meeting project goals and deadlines and support culture shift
  • Positive “can do” attitude and strong work ethic are imperative
  • Ability to work with others to meet deadlines and goals
  • Access to reliable transportation for travel to partner sites will be required, and may be required more regularly during implementation of joint initiatives
  • A strong clinical background, Informatics experience and a strong knowledge of these departments as well as the healthcare organization as a whole
  • Well respected by clinical department management and operating personnel with an excellent reputation for working well with all types of people
  • Strong leadership and critical thinking skills
  • Proven collaboration skills and the ability to achieve group agreement
  • Understands the necessary inter-departmental communication required
  • Ability to work off-hours and/or non-business hours during critical times of any change or implementation
