As needed, a Shipper/Receiver may unload or load product from trucks.Job Duties:

  • Utilize hand tools such as nail guns, staplers, and saws to build crates and pallets for outgoing products 70-100% of scheduled shift
  • Affix shipping labels on packed crates to identifying shipping information
  • Secure product on pallets using strapping or steel banding
  • Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications
  • Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies
  • Operate fork truck, reach truck and/or overhead crane
  • Keep work areas clean and organized and take proper care of all equipment and facilities
  • Follow all safety rules and quality standards
  • Must be prepared and capable of working outdoors throughout each season
  • Comply with all applicable OHSA, ESA, and other provincial regulatory laws, as well as company safety policies
  • Any other duties as assigned by the Shipping/Receiving Supervisor or Senior Leadership team
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent is an asset
  • 1+ years #39; experience using nail guns, staplers, saws and working with wood
  • Experience with fork truck, reach truck, and/or overhead crane is an asset
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Flexibility in scheduled shift may be required
  • Ability to work well independently or as part of a team
  • High level of attention to detail and focus on any given task
