This includes:

  • Removing tagged packages from the scragg and bandmill and storing them in the lumber yard in their designated locations
  • Supporting the package saw by supplying with lumber packages to be cut and removing lumber packages for storage in the lumber yard
  • Feeding packages to the select resaw and auto edger
  • Loading lumber trucks as directed by the shipping manager
  • Ensuring forklift is maintained as per the operator’s manual and any repairs are identified and the supervisor is notified (this includes pre-trip inspections for fluid levels, greasing & tire pressures etc.)
  • Cleaning the forklift weekly – includes inside and out – remove all garbage and clean
  • Ensuring all equipment is shutdown, stored and secured prior to leaving the site
There are opportunities for growth and advancement where skill levels and attitudes are aligned.Shift5 days per week, 7:00am – 4:30pm (9hrs per day), ½ hour lunch on employee time and 2x 15min coffee breaks paid. Days may go longer if trucks require loading past normal working hours.Pay$20 per hour*. *One (1) hour of overtime paid daily (overtime paid for hours greater than 8 per day).Reporting to: Lumber Yard and Shipping Manager – Allen BrownOther Contacts

Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years of experience operating a forklift
  • Understanding of lumber products, grades and species
  • Reliable and strong work ethic
  • The ability to effectively interact with other team members
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in teams and be a positive team member
