Integrated Practice Team Leader, CYMHSocial Program Officer R30This position is also posted as a Nurse 9 under REQ 83956.This position is based in Kamloops and serves Clearwater and Barriere. More information can be found here.Working together with youth, families and communities to achieve positive outcomes and change lives!The Integrated Practice Team is a specialized program within Child and Youth Mental Health (CYMH) that works specifically with children, youth and families that are involved with MCFD’s teams such as intake, family service, guardianship, and adoptions teams. Through a neurodevelopmental and trauma informed approach the Integrated Practice Team engages the community care teams of these children, youth and families in a collaborative treatment effort to help mitigate the impact of abuse, trauma, neglect, violence and other adverse childhood experiences on their mental health and help increase their environmental and relational stability.This position acts as the senior clinician and supervisor by providing direction and leadership to professional staff and to plan, develop, manage and evaluate the delivery of mental health services for children, youth and families as the Team Leader for both the Integrated Practice Team in Kamloops and for Barriere/Clearwater CYMH.The BC Public Service is an award winning employer and offers employees competitive benefits, amazing learning opportunities and a chance to engage in rewarding work with exciting career development opportunities.   • Masters Degree in Social Work (Clinical Specialty or equivalent training/education), Educational Counselling, Clinical Psychology, Child and Youth Care, or equivalent.
    • NOTE: If your degree was obtained outside of Canada, you need to confirm it has been assessed for equivalency through the International Credential Evaluation Services (ICES). You must provide a basic report by the closing date of this posting to be considered.
  • Recent experience (within the last 2 years) leading child and youth mental health clinicians in a supervisory capacity. Preference may be given to applicants with experience specifically supervising Integrated Practice Clinicians.
  • 5 years or more of recent experience (within the last 7 years) in the provision of integrated mental health services to children, youth and families providing direct interventions around the trauma-based behaviours of children and youth. Preference may be given to applicants with 7 years or more recent experience (within the last 10 years).
  • 5 years or more recent experience (within the last 7 years) leading multi-disciplinary care teams and consulting with social workers and other community members. Preference may be given to applicants with 7 years or more recent experience (within the last 10 years).
  • Recent facilitation experience (within the last 5 years) delivering both in-person and virtual presentations to a broad range of service providers, community members and social workers in the areas of attachment, neurodevelopment, trauma, abuse, neglect and adverse childhood experiences.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid class 5 BC Driver’s licence with no restriction or equivalent (i.e. from another Canadian Province).
Preference may be given for:
  • Complex Care and Intervention (CCI) Training and certified CCI coaches.
  • Applicants who self-identify as First Nations, Métis or Inuit with the required combination of education and experience.
