Job Description

Job Title: Document ControllerLocation: Battleford, SKDepartment: Quality AssuranceReports to: Quality Assurance ManagerKey Relationships: Quality Assurance, General Manager, Production, Operations.Role/Purpose: A position as a Document Controller is your opportunity to ensure that quality standards and procedures in our facility are aligned with current government regulations through SOP’s and DCS’s. This position reports directly to the Quality Assurance Manager.Technical skills and attention to detail and effective verbal and written communication skills are vital as you will be a conduit between facility Operations and Quality Assurance.About us: Decibel is uncompromising in the process and craftsmanship needed to deliver the highest quality cannabis products and retail experiences.   • Prepare, review, and control all site documentation, including production, sanitation, processing and other batch records.
  • Review and verify that documents are recorded properly, as per
Good Documentation Practices (GDP), Good Production * Practices (GPP) and Good agricultural and Collection Practices (GACP).
  • Investigation and follow up on documentation discrepancies.
  • Support Quality Assurance Manager in maintaining the document control system (Standard Operating Procedures and Data Control Sheets) and preparation of documents for auditing.
  • Maintain the internal Quality Management System software where it applies to Standard Operating Procedures and Data Control Sheets.
  • Respond to document change requests and maintain change control systems.
  • Organize and complete training on new and revised Standard
Operating Procedures, Data Control Sheets, and company policies as well as maintain facility-wide training records.
  • Maintain Quality Management Systems database via Microsoft Access to document SOP/DCS revisions, CAPA Reports, Customer Complaints, Staff training records, approved vendors and product list, Preventative maintenance, and Calibration records.
  • Other projects and tasks as assigned, including but not limited to quality assurance and quality control, operations, and customer care.
  • Experience in Quality Assurance Departments an asset.

Qualifications:
  • 2+ years in manufacturing and production operations where Good Production Practices or Good Manufacturing Practices have been applied (or similar experience in food, beverage, or pharmaceutical industries).
  • 1 year Diploma or Certificate in similar field preferred.
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time (8 hours per shift)
Key competencies:
  • Knowledge of Cannabis Act and Regulations an asset.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills to communicate effectively with all levels within the organization.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development.
  • Excellent leadership skills, problem solving skills and decision-making skills.
  • Proficient with computers, Excel, database management, etc.
  • Team oriented focus and coaching management style an asset
  • Extremely organized and high attention to detail
  • High work ethic standards a must
  • Flexibility to deal with constant change and ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines.
  • Strong analytical skills, strategic and tactical thinking, and a working knowledge of risk assessment and mitigation approaches.
