Job Description

Job Title: Quality Manager Location: Battleford, SKDepartment: Quality AssuranceReports to: Director, Quality and ComplianceDirect Reports: Document Controller, Inventory Controller, Sanitation LeadKey Relationships: Operations, Quality Assurance, and FinanceRole Purpose: Support the Quality & Compliance Team with the design, summary, implementation, monitoring and continuous improvement of quality programs in all aspects of production.About us: Decibel is uncompromising in the process and craftsmanship needed to deliver the highest quality cannabis products and retail experiences.   • Act as the quality assurance person, upon approval by Health Canada as QAP/AQAP, and carry out necessary responsibilities as per the Cannabis Act and Regulations, as well as other regulatory guidelines
  • Support and work closely with management team to ensure that corporate quality objectives are aligned and met amongst all facilities under the Decibel Cannabis Company.
  • Ensure and monitor GPP regulatory requirements are being met in production processes
  • Manage, implement, and support all quality systems, including but not limited to Corrective Actions & Preventive Actions, Customer Complaints, Preventive Maintenance, Facility Inspections, Equipment Approval, Pest Control, Vendor Approval, GPP/GMP/GDP, Document Control, Product Recall and Withdrawals, Business Contingency, Internal Audits, Product On-Hold and Release, Label Approval, Validation Studies
  • Review, approve, and audit Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), ensuring that the procedures are carried out in production as per SOP; initiating and requesting for changes from department managers, as required.
  • Participate in regulatory inspections and audits, provide appropriate responses, as required; assign and follow-up with other departments on corrective actions, ensuring that all corrective actions and preventive actions are implemented and carried out.
  • Manage and maintain vendor approval program, including vendors relating to sanitation, production supplies, and maintenance chemicals
  • Provide quality support on R&D and continuous improvement projects
  • Provide support in health and safety issues related to quality and safety of products and personnel, such as personnel incident reports, and glass and brittle plastic incident reports
  • Coordinate GPP/GMP/GDP trainings, provide training sessions on a routine schedule
  • Manages the sanitation program and provide guidance to the sanitation team
  • Manages the inventory reporting system and ensuring the accuracy of inventory reporting as per the Cannabis Act and Regulations, and CRA requirements
  • Oversees incoming and outgoing shipment events and provide accurate monthly reports
  • Supports the security program as per the Cannabis Regulations, enforces the compliance requirements alongside with other site managers.
  • Other duties and projects as required

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Science and/or related field; or a Technical Diploma
  • Minimum 3 years experience in a manufacturing or processing environment.
  • Knowledge of Cannabis Act and Regulations; knowledge of pharmaceutical, food, and natural health products regulations is an asset
  • Comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing operations and GPP/ GMP

  • Efficient with computers and computer programs; experience with inventory management or data tracking software an asset
  • Health Canada Security Clearance application
