You are also responsible for surveillance of all plant equipment through on-site inspections and periodical reviews of operating data. You will assist the Operations Manager – Hydro Generation with the co-ordination of activities with other sections, in particular, plant maintenance. You will also act as the Area Emergency Response Coordinator. You will exercise a considerable amount of personal initiative and judgement in planning, organizing and directing the day to day operations.ÂREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:ÂYou have graduated high school, supplemented by either the successful completion of a three year Electrical Technology Program preferably with the Power/Industrial Controls option or certification as an Industrial Electrician. Consideration may be given to applicants with other levels of education and combined work experience.You also have a minimum of five years of experience in the operation and maintenance of Hydro plants and have experience in running maintenance and strong troubleshooting skills. You must be able to work well in a team environment and have excellent leadership qualities, great written and verbal communication skills, and have the ability to train others.You possess a good working knowledge of computers with appropriate awareness of various corporate applications as necessary. These may include, but are not limited to, the Microsoft Suite of applications, JD Edwards, Showcase Strategy, computerized inventory, and maintenance programs.You must have strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with a variety of personnel, both internal and external clients.Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license with a clear driving record.
