At the City of Penticton, our goal is to serve our residents, businesses, and visitors through good governance, partnership and the delivery of effective and community-focused services.The City of Penticton is currently seeking to fill full-time temporary positions for Summer Day Camp Leaders in our Recreation Department. The Recreation Department promotes and contributes to a healthy community and enhances the quality of life for Penticton residents and visitors through planning, management and delivery of recreation, sport events and active living opportunities. This department partners with volunteers, community members and private sector providers to support recreation opportunities in the City.Summer Day Camp Leaders work as a team to provide a summer to remember for children 5-12 years old.Key Responsibilities:

• Develop detailed program plans to ensure all activities are age appropriate and engaging
• Prioritize the safety of camp children at all times
• Lead and supervise a variety of activities
• Build positive rapport with all campers and their families

• Establish and maintain open communication with parents/caregivers and colleagues

Required Knowledge, Abilitiesamp; Skills:

• Experience and/or education background working with children and youth
• Demonstrated leadership abilities
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Comfortable swimming and participating in a variety of physical activities

Education, Trainingamp; Experience:

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Police Information Check (Vulnerable Sector)
• Valid First Aid and CPR-C
• High Five Certification (preferred)
• Valid NLS or Bronze Cross Certification (preferred)
