About Us:Headquartered in Ottawa, BTA Design serves the electronic design community in Canada and beyond, specializing in ASIC and FPGA design and verification, and embedded software development services. We augment and enhance our clients’ teams and accelerate the development of complete designs.We’re adaptable and efficient, with a brilliant staff at our core. We aim to be the best at what we do. Our success continues to fuel growth. We are currently searching for a number of key technical resources, including a staff or principal ASIC Design Engineer with the ability to design and implement RTL logic (Verilog), run block-level simulation, synthesis, DFT insertion, and timing closure for a very large ASIC with high-speed computational accelerators and third-party SoC IP blocks. Key Qualifications:The ideal individual is a senior / staff / principal ASIC Design Engineer with the following:

  • Minimum of an undergraduate degree in EE or ECE.
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in progressively more senior roles.
  • Experience with modern day ASIC development including RTL logic design, synthesis, STA, lint, LEC, and understanding of PnR.
  • Experience with, and/or knowledge of, floating point VPU, GPU shader hardware or similar floating point ALUs.
  • Experience with embedded SRAM controllers, ARM / MIPS / RISC-V Architecture.
  • Knowlledge of AMBA / APB / AXI and processor peripheral interfaces like SPI, eMMC, GPIO, I2C etc.
  • Experience integrating third-party PCIE controllers with Serdes.
  • Experience with complex asynchronous clock boundariesamp; high-speed serial interfaces.
  • Skilled in the use of Cadence tools.
  • Experience in a lab environment, troubleshooting issues up to the system level.
  • Track record as a self-starter, a team player and a leader.
