Job Description

Serve Your Community - Become a Member of the Beaumont Recreation and Culture Advisory CommitteeThe City of Beaumont invites you to serve on the Beaumont Recreation and Culture Advisory Committee. There will be three (3) vacancies as of December 31, 2024.JurisdictionThe City of Beaumont Recreation and Culture Advisory Committee Bylaw 1038-23 HereMandateThe Recreation and Culture Advisory Committee provides advice to Council on policy, facilities, and programming related to recreation, sports, leisure, heritage, community events and volunteerism.Membership and TermThe Committee shall consist of five (5) to nine (9) members appointed by Council. Members are appointed for a two (2)-year term, and no member shall serve more than two (2) consecutive two (2)-year terms. Members must be residents of Beaumont.Time CommitmentMeetings are held monthly on the first Tuesday of the month at 6:00pm at one of the city facilities. There will not be meetings in July, August, and December.A minimum of eight (8) meetings will be held each year.Remuneration Committee members are eligible for an honorarium.Skills, Abilities, and Experience

  • Demonstrate experience and/or education in recreation, sports, leisure, heritage, community events and/or volunteerism.
  • Able to convey ideas clearly and listen actively.
  • Work effectively within a team.
  • Plan and prioritize to ensure you can dedicate enough time to make a meaningful impact.
  • Be punctual and reliable to show respect for both your fellow volunteers and the community.
  • A willingness to think strategically for the benefit of the community.
