This facility features an NHL-sized ice rink with seating for spectators, fieldhouse that can accommodate indoor soccer, lacrosse, and host events; a gymnasium that can accommodate multi-court play; climbing-wall; running/walking track; concession, multi-purpose rooms, tuck shops; and of course an aquatic centre.Make a Splash as our next Lifeguard/Instructor! • Ensuring Patron Safety: Oversee patrons activities to ensure that they are enjoying the pool amenities in a safe manner; address and correct unsafe or unruly behaviour; practice and encourage safe work behaviour and educate. Ensure compliance with governing bodies
• Trainingamp; Supervising: Train lifeguard/instructors during shadow shifts and complete required paperwork, act as a lifeguard and program shift supervisor
• Emergency Response: Recognize the signs of emergencies and take appropriate first aid actions with completion of required documentation
• Certification Maintenance: Assist the Head Lifeguards with the maintenance and completion of lifeguard and instructor certifications
• Teachingamp; Mentoring: Develop lesson plans, instruct swim lessons to children and youth of all skill level, and provide required feedback
• Facility Operations: Perform daily pool maintenance, including water testing, and ensure cleanliness. Ensure a clean, safe and enjoyable environment is maintained
• General Duties: Support other tasks to keep the pool running smoothly and safely.

What YOU Bring:

• Minimum of 1 year’s previous experience as a lifeguard and swim instructor
• 2 years previous supervisory experience in lifeguarding/instructing is an asset
• Courses and certifications required: WSI, NL, SFA(AEC),amp; 02.
• NLI, LSI, LSIT, Pool Ops 1, Pool Ops 2, WSIT,amp; SFAI would be assets to those applying for this position
• Experience with directing children and youth. Programming experience would also be an asset
• Ability to meet the shift requirements; shifts will include hours between 4:45am and 10:00pm
• Must be available to work at least one weekend day per week
• Proficient Microsoft Office skills
• Demonstrated lifeguarding and/or instructor abilities and skills
• Ability to resolve conflict and problem solve
• A clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector and a Child Services Intervention Check
• Ability to communicate effectively and work as part of a team

What WE Offer:

• Up to 40 hours per week from December 30, 2024 to April 20, 2025.
• An hourly rate of $20.59 -$25.69 ( based on qualifications/certifications and experience)
