Job Description

We are currently seeking energetic, career-minded men and women for the role of a Regional Locates Manager for our Edmonton, AB area.The Regional manager is a member of the operations team and as such is accountable to provide optimum governance and oversight to business operations to ensure complete compliance with all regulatory and/or statutory requirements, to realize financial commitments – both revenue and profitability, to ensure the safety of employees and to evaluate and drive process and operational improvements to enhance the success, stability, and security of the business.Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead Innovate and Commit to Excellence
  • Conduct regular meetings with the Supervisors to discuss / resolve any operations issues.
  • Support and guide Supervisors on employee related issues including but not limited to scheduling of vacations, employee grievances, complaints & concerns.
  • Conduct Plant Damage Investigations & Inaccurate Locate Reviews (ILR).
  • Final review of ILR reports before submitted to utility owner.
  • Writing of Inaccurate Locate Review Reports, identifying corrective actions.
  • Submit weekly backlog reports to LAC committee.
  • Submit monthly performance reports to LAC committee.
  • Attend meetings including monthly LAC meetings with utilities.
  • Conduct Disciplinary meetings, issue written warnings, documenting as required.
  • Build performance reports for annual employee reviews
  • Conduct employee performance evaluation reviews, submitting proposed wage increases to senior management for approval.
  • Resolving damage claims with utility owners. Representing PVS in court when required
  • Handle / resolve escalated customer complaints.
  • Work in compliance with all health and safety and environmental legislation including, but not limited to, the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations and PVS Contractors Inc.’s Policies and Procedures.
  • Assist and oversee the daily work assignments
  • Investigate customer complaints
  • Participate in process of hiring new staff (application review & interviews) and assist in training of new staff, both classroom and in the field training
  • Fosters high quality customer service standards; analyzing and resolving quality and customer service issues; identifying trends; recommending improvements.
  • Commitment to innovation and continuous learning.
  • Must be able to identify trends/spikes in ticket loads and develop strategic plans to
  • Maintain 85% compliance and eliminate tickets later than 10 business days
  • Other duties as required
Qualifications and Work Experience
  • Post-secondary education in a discipline relevant to the job function or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Senior-level experience in the management of complex, high-profile, multi-stakeholder projects which require delivery under demanding timeframes and conditions
  • Ability to establish effective and collaborative working relationships with all internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience working with Utility Locating Policy and Procedures
  • Supervisory or Management experience

Additional InformationTravel is required as projects will be located throughout geographic region. A company vehicle and gas card are provided.Physical DemandsA Regional Locates Manager must be able to perform the physical demands of the position’s work tasks and must be able to work in all types of weather conditions.
