Job Description

Kelly Cove Salmon Ltd., a division of Cooke Aquaculture Inc., a dynamic and growing east coast family company, with Platinum Member status in Canada #39;s Best Managed Companies Program, is offering a unique opportunity for a highly motivated individual to join the Company #39;s team as a Hatchery Manager for our Johnson Lake, NB Hatchery.Cooke is a global seafood company with operations in North America, Europe, and South America. Our company #39;s success is driven by our dynamic, highly skilled, and innovative management team, supported by dedicated employees who live in coastal communities and contribute to the local area #39;s economy and sense of community.The Role:As a leader, you must be able to exercise the necessary authority to assure policies and procedures are followed and time frames are met. Excellent people management and communication skills are essential to building effective team and organizational relationships. This position reports to the Freshwater Production Manager.Primary duties of this role include but are not limited to:

  • Responsibility for the daily operations and production at a Recirculation Water hatchery.
  • Meeting quality standards for fish production.
  • Foster a culture of safe work and environmental sustainability.
Qualifications/Requirements/Attributes:
  • Experience within a hatchery environment.• Possess a strong background in general operation and maintenance of life support equipment.
  • Strong background in fish health and husbandry.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Preference will be given to applicants with related post-secondary education and experience.
