Job BriefAs the Blaster Labourer, you will carry out blasting operations throughout the Maritimes by assisting the blaster in charge in performing blast site duties.Who We AreDyno Nobel is a global leader in the commercial explosives industry. IPLs 4500 employees also manufacture and market industrial chemicals and fertilizer products & services to customers around the world.What You’ll DoAs the Blaster Labourer, you will carry out blasting operations throughout the Maritimes by assisting the blaster in charge in performing blast site duties. Duties include:

  • Perform all blast site duties under the supervision of a blaster in charge.
  • Assist in blast design and layout of drill patterns.
  • Assist blaster with blast reports via data entry.
  • Assist with blast site hazard assessments to ensure the blast site is a safe work environment for all involved.
  • Ensure that all equipment to be used daily is clean and in good operating condition including vehicles used for delivery of explosives products.
  • Transport explosives in a safe and efficient manner via delivery truck.
  • Proactively support safety programs by participating in training and safety meetings.
What We’re Looking For:
  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Prior manual labor experience preferred
  • Ability to read, write and speak English and to communicate in written and verbally. Ability to speak and write in French would be an asset.
  • Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions as the job is primarily outdoors
  • Must be able to wear personal protective equipment where required.
  • Physically able (Required to lift up to 25 Kg’s repeatedly)
