Learn more about us at rrss.ns.ca.We are currently recruiting for the position of:Full-time Community Residential Support WorkerLocation: Larry Uteck Area Bedford, NSKEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: Reporting to a House Supervisor, you will be responsible for supporting adults with intellectual disabilities in their day-to-day lives. Areas of support may include community access, recreation and leisure, household management, life skills, personal care, and medication administration. This is a fast-paced environment requiring critical planning, excellent communication skills, and an ability to work collaboratively. You are excited to contribute to a quality team and find creative solutions to ever-changing challenges.QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Grade XII plus post-secondary education with preference given to studies in Human Services and/or experience in a Human Service field.
  • Effective communication in a professional manner at all levels within the organization and an ability to liaise with key partners including families, professionals, and other agencies.
  • Experience working with an interdisciplinary team, including mental health professionals and Board Certified Behaviour Analysts (BCBAs)
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • The ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively in a fast paced environment.
  • Strong organization and record keeping skills.
  • Positive ability to work within a team.
  • Must have values and skills compatible with the type and level of support required.
COMPENSATION: $20.76 per hour (plus shift differentials where applicable), Health and Dental Benefits, Life Insurance, LTD, AD&D, and Group RRSP plan.OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Scheduling is based on a 4 week rotational schedule including some evenings and weekends.APPLICATION PROCESS: Interested applicants must make formal application in writing, including current resume and cover letter clearly outlining how you meet the qualifications listed above.
