Job Description

Job TitleDirect Delivery DriverReports toGeneral ManagerDescriptionOur Direct Delivery Drivers are considered the “face” of Community Courier and are responsible for the safe and efficient transport of our products directly to our consumers’ homes throughout the HRM. By providing exceptional customer service to our customers and always representing Community Courier in a positive manner, the Direct Delivery Driver has a direct impact on the success of our business.Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of products directly to our customers’ homes and businesses.
  • All deliveries must follow social responsibility practices as outline by Community Courier and may be required to ID customers.
  • Responsible for the loading and unloading deliveries of product at each stop on your daily route.
  • Act as a representative of the products and the company to all customers in a positive and professional manner.
  • Maintain overall appearance both inside and outside driver vehicle.
  • Fleet vehicles range from Car up to 5-ton Trucks.
Operational Information
  • Flexible schedule which may include rotational weekend work.
  • This is a full-time position - Scheduled hours may flex depending on delivery volume (shifts will be approximately 8-hours).
  • Must be comfortable driving in rural and urban areas
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Must hold a valid license with a clean driving record (zero tolerance for alcohol-related infractions) and provide a driver’s abstract
  • Must be comfortable moving heavy objects, up to 50 lbs
  • A detail-oriented, sincere, and responsible person with strong organizational skills.
  • Must be friendly and courteous towards all customers and co-workers.
  • Delivery driver experience: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Customer service: 1 year (Preferred)
  • As a condition of employment new hires are required to provide a copy of a criminal background check
