This commitment has established Clearwater as a global leader in sustainable seafood excellence.Clearwater Seafoods’ Finance department requires a Financial Analyst, Corporate Accounting role based at their Bedford, Nova Scotia Corporate Office. This position is a 15-month maternity leave term position and reports to the Finance Manager, Corporate Accounting.Purpose of Position: This position is responsible to analyze routine information for accuracy and business insight and to generate accounting entries and analysis that require data interpretation or professional judgement.Reporting Structure: This position reports to the Finance Manager, Corporate AccountingMajor Responsibilities1. Review and post accruals and journal entries2. Perform fixed asset and general ledger accounting3. Prepare remittances for EDC, and other government filings4. Reconcile intercompany and goods in transit accounts for all companies5. Prepare working papers supporting the monthly close process and month end balances6. Support the business with analysis of reports7. Suggest process improvements8. Perform other related duties as requiredDuties & Accountabilities: 1. Journal entry work:

  • Prepare and enter journal entries
  • Review journal entries for completeness and accuracy
  • Post journal entries
2. Input sheet generation
  • Generate input sheets
  • Analyze input sheets for completeness and accuracy
3. Ensure GL account integrity
  • Prepare account reconciliations and working papers that tie out to GL balances
  • Review account reconciliations and working papers for accuracy and completeness
  • Follow up on issues identified and actively seek solutions to problems until resolved
4. Prepare month end schedules and reporting5. Fixed asset work:
  • Follow up with operations to determine when fixed assets are ready to be depreciated
  • Ensure that fixed assets set up adhere to fixed asset policy
  • Ensure proper useful lives and appropriate master data is set up for fixed assets
6. Create balance sheet and income statement budgets for Annual Operating Plan (AOP)7. Assist the quarter end and year end auditsKey Behavioral Competencies:

Job Qualifications:
  • University business degree with Accounting or Finance major
  • CPA designation or working towards it
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience
  • SAP user knowledge is an asset
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel skills
Working Conditions:
  • Location – Bedford, Nova Scotia with hybrid remote work schedule
