Employer Advisor Nova Scotia is a not for profit society navigating employers, business associations, groups and agencies with assistance, advice, representation, advocacy and education with employment and human resources issues, including workplace health and safety, workers’ compensation, policy development, workplace investigations of complaints and appeals. We provide training to Employers and hold an annual Employer Conference. Our legal advisors provide legal advice, statute interpretation and legal representation. Our office is located in Bedford, NS. The Society is governed by an independent sector-based Board of Directors and funded in part by a subsidy of Employer premiums through WCB NS.We have an immediate opening for a temporary/part time consultant or external contractor to work as a Marketing and Communications Consultant. This position will be approximately 2-3 days per week, as required. This position is primarily remote work with attendance at our Bedford Nova Scotia office approximately 1 day every 2 weeks.This position will navigate employer to business success through creative advertising and marketing geared to Employers, meet with Employers across industry sectors, work with sector organizations to assist Employers, coordinate our annual conference and other events planning, training sessions, develop website materials and newsletters and more.We are looking for someone with post-secondary education in Marketing, Public Relations/Communications, Human Resources or related educational preparation and relevant job experience. You must possess strong skills with social media, Microsoft suite of programs, especially Excel and Publisher. You must demonstrate superb interpersonal skills, tact, good judgement and strong ability to manage multiple priorities. You are a self-starter and work well without the need for constant supervision and are highly organized and able to coordinate several projects at the same time.
