DescriptionEstablished in 1963, Strescon Limited has grown to become the largest precast, pre-stressed concrete manufacturer in Eastern Canada. Its primary market covers the Atlantic Provinces and the New England region of the United States. Strescon manufactures a wide range of both architectural and structural precast/prestressed concrete products including bridge girders, wall panels, complete parking garages, hollow-core planking, piling and deck slabs. Strescon presently has two facilities: 70,000 sq ft. in Saint John, New Brunswick and 50,000 sq. ft. in Bedford, Nova Scotia.In addition to our engineered precast facilities for custom components, Strescon also operates a 32,000 sq. ft. facility in Saint John which manufactures standard concrete products for engineered drainage systems, such as pipe, manholes and catch basins.Strescon Limited is currently recruiting a full time or part time Plant Maintenance Technician at our precast concrete facility in Bedford, NS.Responsibilities

• Perform electrical and mechanical maintenance on all facility equipment and systems
• Assist with troubleshooting all mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and PLC systems
• Working with outside third party maintenance companies
• Conduct equipment inspections as required or as outlined by the preventative maintenance schedule to detect and diagnose issues
• Report detailed records of work performed to management
• Contribute to plant upgrades and improvements
• Additional duties as assigned

Technical Requirements

• Strong electrical and PLC experience
• 3 to 7 years’ experience in a heavy industrial environment
• Valid provincial certification as an Industrial or Construction Electrician would be an asset
• Past experience in the maintenance of overhead cranes would be useful
• Journeyman Industrial Mechanic/Millwright or equivalent experience would be an asset
• Welding tickets would also be considered an asset
