Job Advertisement: Research Liaison Officer Overview: The Nova Scotia Salmon Association is the administrating partner on a multi-institutional project seeking to understand how the quality of freshwater habitat has changed in North AmericanAtlantic salmon rivers and determine if such changes in freshwater habitat conditions have changed the quality and survival of salmon later in life. Known as the Atlantic Salmon ResearchJoint Venture, this project involves the collection and analysis of historical Atlantic Salmon and ecosystem data as well as the development and delivery of new research programs aimed at collecting strategic new data. This project has recently been funded and we are looking for a full- time research liaison officer to work with our collaborative team, scientists and field staff.Term of position: Time of hiring – March 31, 2023, with the good possibility of extension.Position: Research Liaison OfficerEmployer: The Nova Scotia Salmon AssociationWages: Starting salary $50,000 per annum.Location: TBD. Although the NSSA is in the Halifax Regional Municipality and the Principal Investigator is located there, remote working from locations in Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Newfoundland & Labrador can be considered. The research liaison officer will also work in collaboration with a coordinator and a steering committee of researchers. Although only remote work is considered upon the start of this position, over time there may be a requirement for travel to meet with researchers in eastern Canada which may include attendance at regional meetings. During periods when COVID-19 restricts activities, activities will be conducted online, and the candidate will be expected to work from home.Supervisor: This position will report to the Principal Investigator at the Nova Scotia SalmonAssociation.
