Requisition TitleHousekeeping Aide - SEIU ServiceClose Date21 May 2021Contract TypePermanent - Part TimeLocationBeeton, ON L0G 1A0 CA (Primary)Job DescriptionPOSITION SUMMARYThe Housekeeping/Laundry Aide is responsible for performing general housekeeping/laundry duties within established procedures, in accordance with the policies of the Home and applicable legislation. As a valued member of Long Term Care and Seniors Services, the Housekeeping/Laundry Aide demonstrates a commitment to resident safety by providing quality services in accordance with the organization’s mission and vision.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (not listed in order of priority)1. Perform all general housekeeping / laundry duties as required.2. Deep cleaning and disinfecting of requested areas or rooms as required.3. Deliver and distribute personal clothing to resident rooms.4. Pick up and deliver exchange linen/personals carts and soiled bins.5. Assist with waste management processes.6. Assists with orientation of new staff.7. Assumes an active role in the infection control program in accordance with the Provincial Infectious Diseases Advisory Committee (PIDAC).8. Upon request, assist in the implementation of quality management mechanismssuch as home audits (e.g., resident home area).9. Participate in committees as required.10. Attend in-service education sessions, staff meetings, committee meetings, workshops etc. as directed by immediate Supervisor.11. Participates in and demonstrates an understanding of resident safety principles and practices into all day to day activities. Follows all safe work practices and procedures and immediately communicates any activity or action whichmay constitute a risk to resident safety.12. Acts as a member of the inter-disciplinary team within the Home.13. Effectively utilizes all electronic systems provided.14. Perform other duties as assigned.15. Comply with all relevant legislations/regulations, policies and procedures.16. Works in compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act and the Long Term Care Homes Act, and their regulations in performing duties in a safe manner and follows all County of Simcoe Health & Safety policies, procedures and legislation.17. Maintain confidentiality in accordance with the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Actand the Personal Health Information Protection Act.EDUCATION, TECHNICAL SKILLS AND CERTIFICATION
