Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Commodity Manager to join ourAerospace manufacturing facility team. As a Commodity Manager, you will be responsible for managing the procurement and supply chain of various raw materials and components, ensuring the availability of necessary materials for production, negotiating contracts and prices with suppliers, and managing inventory levels. Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement commodity strategies that align with business objectives, ensuring cost-effective and timely procurement of materials.
  • Monitor and analyze market trends to identify potential risks and opportunities, and develop plans to mitigate risks and take advantage of opportunities.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating contracts and prices, and managing supplier performance to ensure the highest quality products are delivered on time.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth and efficient operations, including working closely with manufacturing, quality control, and logistics teams.
  • Develop and maintain an accurate inventory of all raw materials and components, ensuring proper levels are maintained to meet production demands.
  • Monitor supplier performance metrics, evaluate supplier capabilities, and initiate corrective actions as needed to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Develop and maintain strong knowledge of the commodity market and industry trends to inform procurement decisions and commodity strategies.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor #39;s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • At least 8 years of experience in procurement, supply chain management, or a related field, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Aerospace manufacturing knowledge is an asset
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience managing supplier relationships.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze market trends, evaluate supplier capabilities, and identify risks and opportunities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of commodity markets and industry trends.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP or Oracle.
