Company descriptionMcKinlay Funeral Homes Ltd. is an independent, family-owned funeral home with locations in Ridgetown, Chatham and Blenheim. Our staff is comprised of caring and compassionate professionals who are committed to providing funeral services that help families honour their departed loved one in a manner that helps facilitate the healing process.Job descriptionWe are currently looking to add to our Administration team in our Blenheim and Ridgetown offices. The position of Administrative Assistant will be responsible for performing administrative tasks to ensure that families’ wishes are followed. Responsibilities include answering telephone inquiries, preparing all documents, media, stationery and personalization of items required for funerals, and keeping files updated. The position will also assist in some accounting related tasks including creating statements of adjustment, keeping ledger files updated and balanced, and reviewing payable invoices and publishing to the accounting system for payment. The successful candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills with a strong attention to detail. Applicants must be proficient in all Microsoft Office programs and possess the ability to adapt to new technology and to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times. Preference will be given to candidates that have experience in using photo editing software.1-3 years of experience or a combination of relevant education and experience (required).
