If you are looking to join a leader in the construction industry and bring projects to life, then this may be the perfect fit for you.Reporting to the Chief Estimator, the Draftsperson will assist in the design and drafting of construction projects. They will provide support to the Estimating and Proposal teams with building layouts, design refinements, and building details.Job Duties· Perform building layouts, design refinements, and envelope detailing using AutoCAD· Detailed review of drawings and design of site plans· Complete document packages, producing drawing sets and maintain electronic library· Work as a part of a team, assisting with the development of new projects, assist in coordination of other disciplines involved with project design/documentation and project requirements as assigned· Create and track technical drawings and documents· Performing calculations for materials and weight limitations· Understanding and ensuring architectural and structural requirements, elements, building codes and by-laws are followed· Identify and communicate potential design problems with the team· Collaborate with prospective clients. Requirements· Diploma in CAD or Civil Engineering Technology from a recognized institution· Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office and AutoCAD· Strong working knowledge of designs in construction· Exceptional attention to detail with a high level of accuracy· Ability to stay organized while working on more than one project at differing stages of development· Excellent communication skills and decisive problem-solving skills· Ability to work both independently and as a part of a team· Highly motivated and able to manage multiple priorities under strict deadlines· Able to work flexible hours periodically as required for site visitsBuilding Confidence Through Performance – Penn-co has been in business for over 60 years!
