Job Description

We now currently have another career opportunity for an “Evening Shift Prodevco / CNC Operator” in our Fabrication department. This position works four 10-hour shifts per week (40 hours) Monday-Thursday 3:30pm – 2:00am and they will report directly to the Evening Fabrication Supervisor. We pay overtime after 40 hours per week.*Job Overview: *A CNC Operator produces pieces & parts for fitters using the Prodevco, plasma cutter and CNC machines, as per project specification to ensure delivery targets are met as per schedule.To qualify for this position:

  • Experience with CNC Operations would be an asset, but not mandatory.
  • Experience in the steel industry would be an asset, but not mandatory.
  • Will work well with each staff person, be likeable and humble in approach.
  • Strong written / verbal communications skills within the fabrication team.
Key Responsibility Areas:
  • Read and interpret design drawings.
  • Perform nesting to minimize wastage.
  • Perform adjustments to CNC program or machine offsets to meet all dimensions and quality requirements of the project.
  • Maximize use of material to ensure cost effectiveness.
  • Organize and label parts clearly and accurately.
  • Adhere to all safety standards and keep workstation clean and organized.
  • Coordinate the safe storage of materials in locations where access is easy for the fitters.
  • Provide daily reports on production.
  • Liaise with Shop Foreman pertaining to machine maintenance and performance.
