Job Description

Sika Canada inc. offers an extensive product portfolio ranging from roofing systems, concrete admixtures, concrete repairs and strengthening systems, sealing and bonding materials to high performance industrial flooring systems and waterproofing solutions for below-grade concrete structures. In parallel to the production of construction materials, Sikas industrial products division - Industry - is a technology leader in elastic and structural bonding and in the manufacture of adhesives, sealants and acoustic materials serving the transportation, industrial, marine and automotive sectors. Sika Industry provides application solutions for the automotive (cars, trucks, bus and, specialty vehicle), rail, renewable energies, marine, building envelope, window and door industries and much more. In 2007, Sika Canada inc. decided to integrate Sarnafil, a company specializing in thermoplastic membranes and roofing systems. Then, in 2019, the company acquired King Packaged Materials, a leading independent Canadian manufacturer of shotcrete, mortars and solutions for concrete.Exciting ChallengesYou are a quick learner and enjoy working with materials. Join our R&D team !You will be working closely with the Lab Manager or the QC Supervisor and your main responsibilities will be:

  • Perform the raw material and finished goods quality control tests for the powder materials
  • Conduct rapid colour matching to comply with requests from Sales
  • Support technical leaders with the different R&D projects.
Quality Control and Quality Assurance:
  • Perform the quality control tests in such a way as to demonstrate the product quality conformity and identify any product-related non-conformity. If necessary, he will launch the actions to correct and prevent the non-conformities.
  • Register the product-related quality results, including the problems.
  • Complete the non-conformity reports, if necessary.
  • Process the non-conforming products.
  • Participate with the Lab Manager and/or the Production Manager in the search for solutions, and the implementation of correctives actions.
  • Carry out the calibration of the lab equipment (person responsible for calibration only).
  • Complete the forms related to the position.
Environment:
  • Implement different procedures of the environmental management program applicable to his activity sector.
  • This role is will require the handling of cements, aggregates, concrete and lab equipment.
Projects:
  • Perform projects as requested by the Director of Technology as well as any other related tasks while following Sika Canada Inc.s quality assurance procedures.
We Need Your Skills
  • DEC/College Degree - Chemical or Engineering Technique and/or equivalent experience working with construction materials is a plus
  • Familiarity with ASTM testing methodologies is a plus
  • Good computer skills with Windows based software
  • French speaking, English is a plus
