Please make sure work history and education are added correctly.Job SummaryWe are seeking a Supervisor for our In-Vivo Laboratories department site located in Boisbriand (Greater Montreal area) in Canada.The following are responsibilities related to the Supervisor position :

  • Coach, train and support employees to ensure maximum efficiency of teams;
  • Plan and oversee employees weekly schedules to ensure efficiency and productivity at minimum cost;
  • Analyze deviations and take corrective actions;
  • Support employees by removing obstacles, whenever possible;
  • Ensure that proper training is available in a timely manner;
  • Participate in the evaluation of competency of the staff;
  • Provide development opportunities for staff members;
  • Deal with the other services to resolve more challenging issues;
  • Balance the needs of employees and management when making decisions;
  • Ensure that the working environment is safe;
  • Work closely with other supervisors to ensure consistency and apply standardized work procedures and practices;
  • Ensure that all tasks carried out are performed in full compliance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), where these conditions apply;
  • Ensure the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are understood and consistently applied;
  • Write SOPs, whenever required;
  • Perform technical work when required;
  • Contribute to the implementation and improvement of the enrichment program;
  • Ensure expenditures (either materials or worked hours) are only as necessary and as cost effective as possible;
  • Maximize the utilization of all resources;
  • Minimize costs whenever possible;
  • Manage time effectively;
  • Remain informed on all legislation and developments related to job through self-education and external training;
  • Substitute and/or assist department colleagues;
  • Perform any other reasonable tasks that may be required.
The following are minimum qualifications related to the Supervisor position :
  • Minimum, collegial degree in animal health science or equivalent;
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in staff management;
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Pre-clinical CRO;
  • Strong practical knowledge of animal health sciences;
  • Strong knowledge of related principles, practices and procedures;
  • Strong knowledge and application of GLP;
  • Fluently bilingual (French and English);
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills;
  • Ability to work under time constraints and adapt to change;
  • Flexibility to work on changing work schedules;
  • Excellent ability to efficiently manage people, time and resources;
  • Demonstrated leadership ability;
  • Ability to work in a team environment;
  • Working knowledge of related computer applications.
