Job Description

United Lumber is a multi location lumber and building material supplier in the GTA with the supreme brand recognition and buying power of Home Hardware. Our Bolton location is looking to hire an Assistant yard Manager to support out growing customer base.Job Duties:

  • Working with the yard manager to manage and perform when necessary all aspects of the yard functions including receiving, yard setup and customer service functions
  • Ensure proper housekeeping protocol to protect product and ensure health and safety along with a presentable yard to our customers
  • Assist in managing all of the Yard employees which includes task assignment
  • Employee relations to coach and mentor staff
  • Assist with overseeing inventory control
  • Training of employees
  • Backup to Shipper position to Prioritize and set delivery schedules and organize loads to be built
  • Ensuring our compliance of H&S and policies are followed at all times by staff
  • Maintaining and ensuring valid training and certification of all employees and equipment

Job Requirements:
  • Minimum 2 years forklift experience
  • Supervisor or Management experience
