Job Description

Scope/ Overview of Position:Launched in 1979 as a wholesale and distribution company, SDR has transformed itself into a leader in the North American 3PL market, specializing in the fashion, footwear, accessories, and related soft goods fulfillment market niche. Well known within the industry for its attention to detail and the constant strive for perfection, SDR’s success has been supported by a top-notch Warehouse Management system (Manhattan Scale) with RF inventory control and a fully compliant EDI communication solution.SDR hosts a clientele base in excess of 100 customers with over 1000 vendors. Our footprint is in excess of 2 million square feet throughout North America.Key Responsibilities & Duties:Lead a team of up to 20 associates in delivering world-class service to our customers while building a high performing and positive team culture.Inspire and motivate our associates to meet and exceed the team’s operational goals and key performance indicators (safety, productivity, service quality etc)Execute company policies, procedures, and programs in a consistent and timely manner.Conduct regular associate update meetings to share pertinent information as necessary while striving to increase associate engagement.Coach and train associates to ensure job expectations are clear and understood. Provide feedback as required and manage performance as per the company’s performance management process.Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment by establishing and monitoring safety and security related procedures and protocols.Build collaborative relationships with our client contacts and establish a communication framework to support the on-going sharing of information between the parties.Plan and execute the daily production and labour plan to achieve all client KPI’s within the planned operating budget. Partner with Temp Agency providers to help staff the team as required.Liaison with our Corporate Support Teams (HR/ Safety, Purchasing, Facilities, Loss Prevention, Finance) when required to ensure adherence to established procedures and guidelines.Achieve financial objectives by assisting in the preparation of the annual operating budget and report-up each month on the key variances and related action plans.Collaborate with others including Solutions to help build a culture focused on continuous improvement.Qualifications, Education and Experience Required:Degree/ diploma in business, supply chain or logistics preferred.5+ years’ experience in a senior distribution leadership capacitySolid understanding of distribution/ fulfillment processes and systems within a multi-channel (wholesale, retail, e-commerce) operationPrevious experience and/ or training with LEAN/ Six Sigma programs an assetPrevious experience with Manhattan WMS (SCALE, PKMS) a definite assetExcellent interpersonal and communication skills.Proven knowledge of DC related policies and proceduresExcellent problem-solving and organizational skillsWorking knowledge of computer programs (MS-Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access)Solid understanding of health and safety policies, regulations, procedures, and metricsAble to flex his/ her work schedule and to work extended hours or weekends as required.SDR Distribution Services Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to a diverse and inclusive workforce.
