Job Description

This position is responsible for leading the Cambria FabShop and monitoring all aspects of Operations within the shop, while striving to meet company goals for safety, labor, quality and productivity. The responsibilities will include but are not limited to managing and overseeing overall operations including production, materials, quality assurance and control, human resources, safety, maintenance, finance and information systems. The fabrication shop runs 24/5.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee the operations of the facility including area owners, office personnel, maintenance, AutoCAD, customer service and production staff
  • Analyze and organize office operations and procedures such as bookkeeping, preparation of payrolls, personnel, information management, filing systems, requisition of supplies, purchasing and other clerical services
  • Monitor operations to enhance productivity, effectiveness and efficiencies.
  • Responsible for plant budget
  • Responsible for screening, hiring, training, performance management, discipline, promotion and dismissal of employees within span of control
  • Responsible for all state and federal compliance
  • Responsible for implementing and follow-up of company-wide initiatives, policies and practices
  • Coordinate plant activities through planning with departmental managers to ensure the total manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost effective manner
  • Utilization of hands-on leadership to facilitate growth among the team
  • Interact with administrative support, review daily activity, safety, quality, operating, sales, inventory, and output reports to determine changes that need to be made in the facility
  • Participate in local business and civic organizations to enhance the reputation of our business in the communities we operate in to attract and retain employees and add value to the community.
  • Ensure all work meets the requirements and quality standards. Support and enforce Standard Operating Policies.
  • Ensure preventive maintenance of equipment and machinery. Evaluate equipment and schedule and manage necessary repairs
  • Ensure that there are procedures in place to obtain accurate inventory of products
  • Ensure personnel policies are applied consistently. Establish and maintain positive employee relations
  • Ensure a safe work environment for all employees. Comply with OSHA and company safety and hygiene standards
  • Travel off-site to train, offer training and support other facilities
Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalentExperience: 5+ years successful plant management experience in a custom manufacturing environmentSystems: Microsoft Office Suite and AutoCADQualifications & Skills:
  • Demonstrated ability to interact effectively at all levels and in support of customer relations
  • Proven record in customer satisfaction which includes addressing customer complaints effectively
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate strategies into operation objectives and projects
  • Must demonstrate proven experience in conflict resolution at all levels inside and outside the company
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Self-motivated with excellent organization skills
  • Ability to teach, manage, and coach employees effectively
  • Mechanically inclined with the ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, foresee and prevent issues
  • Strong finance and P&L acumen
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to deal with a multitude of personalities
  • Excellent planning skills and work well under pressure
  • Ability to move around the fabrication shop throughout the day
  • Ability to be accessible 24/5 for shop issues that arise
Managerial Responsibilities:
  • This role will directly oversee multiple direct and indirect reports that work within the shop.
Travel Requirements:
  • Ability to travel as needed
