He/she provides technical assistance to the sales department from the preliminary stage of a project to its completion.This position has the possibility of a Hybrid (Work from hone & office) schedule provided that key objectives are met following a 6-month office-based probationary period. If the objectives are achieved at the end of this time, then the employee will be expected to work at least one day a week (on average) in the office.Reporting Structure:This position requires you to report to:Directly: Group Leader, EngineeringIndirectly: The Head of Engineering, Toronto; and the Branch Manager – Toronto; andAs Required: The Head of Engineering – Canada, the Managing Director(s) of Canada and the Head of Human Resources – CanadaResponsibilities:

  • Works with sales to produce AutoCAD drawings during the proposal stage and finalizes working drawings for site use, utilizing Doka Canada forming systems.
  • Provides material lists for quotations and shipments to the site.
  • Produces and ensures that the drawings indicate the proper use of Doka Canada forming equipment and that the drawings represent safe, economical and efficient designs.
  • Provides analysis and design/price calculations as required (based upon level of experience and education).
  • Ensures that the work designed is based on available inventory and in conformance with contractual guidelines.
Other Responsibilities/Peripheral Functions:
  • Participates in job site visits, identifies any improper implementation and can take action insuring corrective measures are immediately implemented.
  • Other duties/projects as assigned, such as participating in company committees/teams.
QualificationsQualifications/Technical Proficiency
  • Bachelor Degree in engineering (civil, construction, structural, mechanical) and/or equivalent technical school education.
  • Revit and BIM knowledge desired.
  • One year (minimum, preferably more) prior experience in concrete forming, shoring applications and design an absolute MUST. Applicants who are unable to demonstrate this experience will not be considered and need not apply.
  • Excellent communication skills including an excellent command of English (speaking, reading, writing).
  • Qualitative abilities including strong analytical skills, technical proficiency and effective problem solving skills.
  • Experienced in AutoCAD (mandatory), project management software and computer applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Willing and able to learn new products, concepts and techniques.
  • Organized team player able to work in a deadline driven, fast-paced and multi-cultural environment.
Problem SolvingThis position requires the ability to support the sales function within the office and at times in the customer environment, solving design and field problems on short notice with minimal information.CommunicationExtensive daily interaction with internal colleagues, management and customers.Mental EffortPosition requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, to be organized and to manage time to meet deadlines.Self-discipline is needed to maintain targets whilst working in a Hybrid WFH model.Working ConditionsWorking conditions vary from that of an office environment: dry, cool, well lit, to outside conditions (equipment yard or job site), high noise level in certain areas, extreme outdoor temperatures.Additional InformationIf you have a passion to support business accuracy and development, we look forward to receiving your application for this new role!This position may be used to fill more than one position and will remain open until suitable candidate(s) are located.
