Job Description

Position Summary: The Steamer Production Assembler – Day Shift works with the Production Team Lead to ensure the orders are completed daily, ready to meet the department needs and is responsible for assisting with the production requirements.Hours of work: Monday to Friday: 7:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.Responsibilities:

  • Bench Assembly of steamer room units in a production plant.
  • Parts such as water pipes, leak testing, electrical parts, wiring, drilling metal panel boxes using hand tools, air tools, and electric tools.
  • Assemble Steamer, Power supply boxes, & Electric control panel boxes based on drawings, samples, and work orders. Uses hand tools, air ratchets and electric tools. Electrical control box wiring on electrical power supplies and control panel assembly.
  • Performs other duties as required such as shop tests on products by using shop test procedure and various testing equipment.
  • Record and follow process instructions.
  • Resolves assembly problems meeting specifications, notifying the team lead to obtain additional resources.
  • Keeps equipment operations by completing preventative maintenance requirements; following manufacturer’s instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions.
  • Ensure customer expectations and company quality standards targets are met.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by strictly adhering to plant safety and housekeeping standards.
  • Identify safety gaps and self-initiate corrective actions.
  • Be a change agent and actively promote safety activities and participation within the organization.
  • Maintains supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level and anticipating needed supplies.
  • Conserves resources by using equipment and supplies, as needed to minimize waste.
  • Document actions by completing production and quality forms.
  • Any other tasks that are assigned from time to time by the production supervisor.
The ideal candidate for this position will have:
  • High school diploma, Technical certificate, or equivalent experience.
  • Mechanical aptitude and Electrical Assembly experience.
  • Experience working in a Manufacturing environment is an asset.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawing & spec documents, inventory labels & use a computer.
  • Knowledge of Ontario Health and Safety Act, Health and Safety procedures an asset and must be willing to maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations.
  • Ability to be on their feet for most of each shift.
  • High attention to detail, quality standards and a commitment to meeting deadlines as per customer requirements.
