You’ll find career opportunities that live up to your ambitions and be able to further develop your unique set of skills.So if you’re looking to do what you love, we could be perfect for each other.Our expectationsReporting to the Manager, Capital Asset Accounting, the primary role of the Senior Analyst, Capital Asset Accounting is to act as an expert in their field of expertise and to provide support to the stakeholders of the organization. This includes responsibility for managing Fixed Assets Accounting, Lease Accounting, Impairment, Excess Property, and understanding/applying US GAAP, IFRS (transition to come). The Senior Analyst will also participate to the preparation and reliability of financial information, while analyzing the balance sheet.Your role
  • Be the reference to ensure proper accounting treatments fully compliant with US GAAP (and eventually IFRS) in regards of Capital Asset Accounting
  • Become the super-user of financial modules Fixed Assets and Infosite
  • Prepare and document the reconciliation of the fixed assets to cash-flow statement
  • Analyze monthly results/variances, prepare journal entries, and establish month-end accruals
  • Maintain projects and fixed assets reviews schedule and approvals (capital vs. expense classification, in-service dates, reconciliations, action items, authorization, and reporting)
  • Assist their manager to conduct monthly WIP review with the FP amp;A projects team and other relevant stakeholders from all departments
  • Prepare yearly base D amp;A budget and quarterly forecast for the whole organization
  • Assist their colleagues for Lease Accounting from lessors and lessees perspectives
  • Assist their manager for the financial statements review of the PropCo (Real Estate Holding)
  • Establishes and documents accounting provisions for its area of expertise
  • Ensure that internal controls are appropriate and fully respected
  • Provide guidance to adequately code spending to all projects PO preparers of the organization
  • Lead or assist in ad hoc and special requests (impairment, excess property, exit costs, taxes, process automation/optimization, and projects)
The qualifications we are looking for
  • University degree in accounting, finance, or economics
  • CPA designation (required)
  • Knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS, including work experience (required)
  • Minimum of 5 to 7 years of relevant experience
  • Experience in retail industry (strong asset)
  • Self-motivation
  • Strong analytical skills, rigor and ability to synthesize information
  • Mastery of MS Office applications, particularly Excel, advanced level
  • Comfortable to work with multiple IT Systems (Oracle/EBS will be considered a strong asset)
  • Ability to multitask and work under pressure in a fast-paced changing environment
  • Ability to establish positive working relationships with all collaborators.
  • Focus on results while delivering high-quality work
  • Business acumen, ability to understand and interpret complex themes
