Job Description

INTERIOR CONSTRUCTION PAINTERIn business since 1957, Kent Homes is the largest home builder in Atlantic Canada. With our plant in Bouctouche, New Brunswick, we have 150,000 square feet of space dedicated to building quality homes and offices year-round. We serve remote, rural and urban centers throughout Atlantic Canada and Maine, U.S.A.We are currently recruiting for a qualified Interior Construction Painters.Responsibilities:

  • Calculate the area to be painted and the amount of paint needed
  • Must wear self-contained suit to avoid inhaling toxic fumes (confined spaces)
  • Preparation of paints prior to coating
  • Ensure the paint pump is hooked up to the paint bucket
  • Spray walls with paint using the spray gun
  • Paint over the patched areas of the wall with a roller after spraying it
  • Follow specifications for applications as per customer requirements
  • Keep working are neat and clean
  • Work in a timely and efficient manner in order to meet schedule requirements
  • Report safety concerns
Qualifications:
  • Ability to work in a team and complete daily tasks according to the work schedule.
  • Ability to life heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods of time and perform physical labor.
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
  • Ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely.
  • Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions.
  • Ability to meet attendance expectation with dependability and consistency.
  • Good physical condition and strength with the ability to lift more than 60 lbs and a willingness to work overtime occasionally.
  • Detail-oriented individual with superior organizational and multi-tasking skills.
  • High degree of initiative with a proactive approach to work.
  • Ability to follow instructions and learn new skills.
  • Strong work ethic - punctual with a positive attitude and willingness to work.
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
Requirements:
  • Minimum grade 12 education or equivalent
  • 2-5 years, or more, of interior painting experience
  • Knowledge of paint process, how to mix and apply the products.
  • May be required to work additional hours to meet schedule requirements
  • Interpretation of blue prints and specifications
