Job Description

We are an established a busy optometry practice located in downtown Bowmanville looking to hire a part-time receptionist. Prior experience as an Optometrist assistant/receptionist, as well as exposure in a medical health facility would be considered definite assets. The successful candidate must have a strong command of the English language, both oral and written, have a sincere desire to work with people and possess excellent customer service skills.Optometric assistant/receptionist responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • provide excellent customer service and patient care
  • general office duties (general clean up and maintenance of office area, washroom, and kitchen)
  • answering phones and booking appointments
  • pre-testing patients and conducting visual fields
Required Skills
  • at least 1 year Optometry or medical office experience (preferred)
  • ability to multi-task
  • happy and outgoing personality (required)
  • fashionable professional attire
  • punctual
  • passion for learning and dealing with people
  • works well in a team environment
  • able to follow through on tasks consistently and independently
  • excellent verbal and communications skills
  • ability to learn new software quickly
  • proficient knowledge of Excel/word and strong computer skills
