Job Description

Temporary Full Time until June 27, 2025Brampton Site (1)Oakville Site (1)37.5 hours/weekWork Arrangement: CommunityReplacement PositionCompensation Range: $43.59 - $51.28/hourPosition Summary: School Based Rehabilitation Services (SBRS) provides occupational therapy, speech therapy and physiotherapy to students in publically-funded schools from kindergarten to school exit. SBRS clinicians consult with the school team to enable student participation in the school curriculum and school based activities.Key Responsibilities:

  • Initial assessments, reassessments, goal setting and consultation to the school team and treatment when appropriate.
  • Working collaboratively with the team to determine a service delivery plan for each student.
  • Equipment prescription through the Special Education Amount (SEA) program
  • Documentation of care.
  • Liaising with the school team and parents to book appointments.
  • Providing a Tiered Model of Service in elementary and middle schools.
  • Consultation to families/caregivers in the home environment for students with complex physical needs regarding accessibility and equipment.
Qualifications:
  • Degree in Occupational Therapy from a recognized university;
  • Registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario (COTO);
  • Experience with school age clients is an asset;
  • Experience providing service delivery within a Tiered Model of Service is an asset;
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and time management proficiency;
  • An ability to display a high level of initiative;
  • Bilingualism in French and English is an asset;
  • Current C.P.R. and First Aid;
  • Travel is a requirement for these roles.
  • Must possess a valid Ontario driver’s license and have access to a personal vehicle.
