Job Description

Position: Shipping CoordinatorPrimary Location: Brandon, MBSchedule: Full time - Monday to Friday – 40 hours work week. Overtime needed as per business needs and training objectives.Reports to: Compensation: $70,000 - $80,000 per annumThe Canadian base salary range for this position is $70,000 - $80,000 per annum+ bonus + benefits. Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. More specific salary ranges for your preferred location can be discussed during the hiring process. This includes ensuring business unit obligations for timely delivery. The Shipping Coordinator will identify movement delays and act appropriately to ensure product is delivered to customers in a timely manner, or that customers are notified of pending delays. Provides administrative, clerical, and receptionist support for the plant. In This Role, You Will

  • Ensures orders from Customer Service are filled and shipped accordingly.
  • Expedites railcars and trucks to ensure timely arrival of raw materials.
  • Provides back-up for admin assistant.
  • Assists in resolving customer complaints.
  • Shops railcars for repair or warranty work and coordinates salt car maintenance.
  • Prepares and updates procedures and forms within own area.
  • Daily/Weekly/monthly and yearly tracking of raw materials, product inventory and
  • Customer shipping for accounting purposes
Environmental, Health and Safety Responsibilities
  • Become familiar with Chemtrade Environmental, Safetyamp; Health (ES amp;H) policies and procedures.
  • Immediately report all ES amp;H incidents (injuries, near misses, releases).
  • Complete all required ES amp;H training in a timely fashion.
  • Follow all Chemtrade facility and corporate ES amp;H procedures and practices.
  • Attend and actively participate in facility ES amp;H meetings and forums that will drive employee involvement.
  • Provide feedback and suggestions for ES amp;H program improvement.
  • Participate in job safety analysis activities.
A Successful Candidate Has Knowledge
  • High School or GED equivalent.
  • 1-3 years relevant experience with working knowledge of logistics and transportation is an asset
Competencies
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize is essential. Demonstrable strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • The candidate must be a self-starter who can demonstrate a high level of energy and urgency.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SAP. Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Good interpersonal skills; strong team player; Professional telephone etiquette.
Physical Demands / Work Environment:
  • Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job may include close vision.
  • Must be physically capable of spending long hours sitting in an office environment.
  • Must be “fit for duty”.
