Additionally, Therapy Services (Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, OTA and PTA) team provide comprehensive therapy services to patients across the entire organization in both inpatient and outpatient areas, in addition to participating in many quality improvement initiatives to improve patient care for all our patients.Reporting to the Clinical Director, the Clinical Manager is the front line manager for the portfolio, and is responsible for the development of patient care programs, policies and procedures that prescribe how patient care needs will be assessed, evaluated and met. The Clinical Manager is responsible for the effective unit operations and the provision of clinical services resulting in safe, high quality patient care and outcomes. The Clinical Manager guides and supports an interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure positive patient and family experiences in a quality care environment.QualificationsBaccalaureate degree in Nursing or other health discipline, Master’s Degree preferred.3-5 years experience in an informal or formal leadership role in healthcare.Member in good standing with a College recognized under the Regulated Health Professions Act.Demonstration of transformational leadership qualities is an asset to effectively lead others during this unprecedented time in healthcare in order to meet the demands and accountabilities of an evolving healthcare system.Strong communicator and proven ability to facilitate timely resolution of patient and family issues in collaboration with the team.Demonstrated understanding of, and commitment to BCHS’ patient and family centered care philosophy.Demonstrated ability to facilitate and lead effective inter-professional teamsProven success in managing change and fostering a positive workplace cultureProven ability to work with frontline staff to identify, promote and resolve quality issuesKnowledge of quality improvement principles and change management processes for QI and system advancement in healthcare.Strong knowledge utilization, risk and financial management, collective agreements in healthcareSpecific ResponsibilitiesIn collaboration with the Director, the Manager:Oversees the daily operations of the clinical unit to ensure safe, evidence-informed care is provided at the unit level for our patients and the community we serve.Manages the unit resources (Human, Financial, and Physical) to deliver effective, efficient and safe patient care.Oversee the effective management of patient flow and discharge planning and be accountable for identifying barriers to patient care needs and creating solutions.Development and collaborative leadership of the program with physician partner(s).PEOPLE-CENTRED LEADERSHIP CHARACTERISTICSHumility, Compassion, Authenticity, Inspirational, Relationship-oriented and emotionally intelligentCULTURE ALIGNED TO PEOPLE-CENTRED LEADERSHIPTeam-basedEngagement and empowermentDecentralized decisionsAccountabilityCollaboration/partnershipsOpenness/ transparencyTapping into collective wisdom of staffCompassion and empathyPatient/ family needs central to all decisionsSupportive learning environmentSafety (patient, worker and workplace) is a BCHS Corporate Priority.
