The successful applicants will contribute to our team of experienced personnel by bringing a willingness to learn and an entrepreneurial spirit to every project.The Journeyman is responsible for the installation and/or repair of residential/commercial plumbing systems while providing effective customer service for all internal and external customers by using excellent, in-depth knowledge of plumbing systems. The Journey person is also responsible for the training and coaching of the next generation of Journey-Persons and must be willing to teach.Roles and Responsibilities:Journey-person must be well versed in all areas of commercial and residential plumbing, including but not limited to:* Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine layout of plumbing system, water supply network and waste and drainage systems* Install, repair and maintain domestic, commercial or industrial plumbing fixtures and systems* Installs pipes and fixtures, such as sinks and toilets, for water, gas, steam, air, or other liquids* Installs supports for pipes, equipment, and fixtures prior to installation* Assembles fittings and valves for installation* Collaborates with contractors, construction workers, electricians, pipe fitters, and steamfitters in installing and repairing plumbing* Tests plumbing systems for leaks and other problems* Chooses plumbing materials based on budget, location, and intended uses of building* Follows health and safety standards and complies with building codes* Writes report documenting the problem and summary of actions taken* Performs inspections of plumbing systems to identify and replace worn parts* Assists in the preparation of bids and schedules and oversees other workers, such as apprentices and helpers full compliance with Safety programs* Perform other duties as assignedRequired Skills* Mechanical Aptitude* Strong verbal and written communication skills* Competent use of hand and power tools* Collaborative* Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills* Decision-Making Ability* Good Listening Skills* Strong Verbal Communication* Stress- and Time-Management Skills* Customer-Service and Interpersonal Skills* Physical Stamina and Strength* Excellent Trouble-Shooting Ability* Tablet Skills, ability to work in a paperless environmentRequired Abilities* Ability to follow directions* Ability to work with others as part of a team* Progress within the plumbing trade through a recognized apprenticeship program,* Work at various construction sites and projects within Southern OntarioRequired Experience* Ontario Journey-Person Plumbers Licence* High School Graduate or equivalent* Experience in commercial and or residential construction is an assetWe firmly believe our employees are our best assets and we are committed to providing ongoing training and support to allow them to reach their full potential.Our Commitment to DiversityBC Plumbing Inc is an equal opportunity employer.
