We have been providing animal welfare and sheltering services for over 50 years. The mission of the Brant County SPCA is dedicated to all animals through prevention, promotion, and protection. The Brant County SPCA exists to enlighten and enrich the quality of life for our community members.Events & Volunteer Specialist About the PositionReporting to the Manager, Fundraising & Resource Development, the primary responsibility of the Specialist, Events and Database is to ensure the successful coordination of Brant County SPCA Events with a focus on creating strong and lasting relationships with sponsors, event attendees, and other constituents. In addition to coordinating the logistics of the event, the incumbent will also be responsible for the creation of marketing and promotional materials for the events, developing and supporting sponsorship solicitations, and event participant and sponsor impact reporting post-event.In addition, this role will be responsible for providing support and expertise in Raiser’s Edge, including regular gift entry, importing of actions and fundraising activity, and creating and pulling donor-related reports to help team identify trends, areas of opportunity, and data clean up as requiredResponsibilities: · Core Responsibilities- Responsible for the enhancement of Brant County SPCA’s image by being active and visible in the community by working alongside other public and private organizations.· Special Events- Lead the execution of fundraising events and event planning activities. This includes coordinating all logistical items, working with key event volunteers, assigning and engaging Brant County SPCA staff with various event-day roles as required, and ensuring events reach revenue and expense goals.- Develop marketing and promotional material for all Brant County SPCA Special Events.- Work with community leaders and partners to develop and maintain strong sponsorship relationships, including impact reporting post-event.- Participate in and or act as a liaison for third-party fundraising events, including ensuring timely thank you and stewardship of third-party event leaders.- Provide execution support for all social media posts and donor communication materials as it relates to both events and fundraising programs generally.- Responsible for the maintenance, execution, and consistent use of the Event Module in Raiser’s Edge, to ensure all event-related data is being stored accurately.Volunteer Coordination:

  • Responsible for volunteer recruitment, orientation, engagement, ongoing education and recognition activities.
  • Acts as the primary contact for volunteer positions within the organization
  • Participates in the development and implementation of volunteer recruitment plan
  • Responds to volunteer inquiries
  • Conducts volunteer orientation sessions
  • In collaboration with the team, organizes and facilitates volunteer training programs and education opportunities
  • Represents Brant County SPCA at volunteer fairs and community events
  • Organizes the yearly volunteer appreciation event
· Additional Duties- Assist with communications through social media networks, as directed by fundraising team members.- Provide support to Specialist, Communications & Donor Engagement and Manager, Fundraising & Resource Development as required.- Assist with internal communications, ensuring program and shelter staff have a clear understanding of fundraising activities and their important role in these activities.- Assist with website content and maintenance, as directed by fundraising team.- Assist with the execution of print materials as required for the organization.- Arrange for event and donor photography as required.- Assists with Donor Thank You calls- Assists with database entry of events and volunteersPosition Requirements· Outgoing, enthusiastic, professional with a passion for animals· Outstanding ability to communicate and work with people· Self-motivated and goal-orientated· Ability to show compassion and a desire to help others· Ability to work and prioritize in a changing environment· Strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task and attention to detail· Adaptive communication skills· Excellent records management, and experience handling confidential information· A keen listener with a creative approach to problem-solving is essential· The ability to handle confidential information with integrity and trustCustomer Service· Support the Pets for Life model by helping to put the human back in humane· Provide a service approach built on inclusion, diversity, understanding, and non-judgement· Ensure clients receive optimum customer experience.
