The Americas team champions the values of Integrity, Ownership, Customer Focus, Creativity and Care to help us deliver on People Safety, Food Safety, Quality and Collaboration.Job TitleHR CoordinatorLocationBrantford, OntarioDepartmentHuman ResourcesReporting toManager, HR-Business PartnerPosition PurposeProvide assistance and support for all Human Resources policies, practices and procedures.Key AccountabilitiesThe HR Coordinator is responsible for dealing with various HR functions, primarily consisting of recruitment and onboarding, HR administration, and hourly performance management.ResponsibilitiesProvide HR support and advice to management and employees to ensure the fair and equitable application of Human Resources policies and procedures, assist with general inquiriesLead in recruitment and selection for hourly roles (posting jobs on SuccessFactors and various job boards online, setting up job fairs)Conduct pre-screening interviews, schedule interviews, and ensure completion of background checks and employment references, prepare and present job offersDeliver new hire employee orientations as required, and ensure all online onboarding, paperwork and training is completed.Enter and maintain data in HRIS; including all new hires, transfers, terminations and other data entry to ensure accurate and complete information and reporting is availableManage the probationary review process, supplying all departments with timelinesManage step increase program, ensuring rates are processed on timeMonitor benefits program (Manulife) plan changes, and RSP program administrationComplete various reports such as hires/departures, staffing report, etcMonitor data integrity between systems. Address system issues as needed, and escalate to appropriate team for resolution when requiredProvide direction and support to Supervisors for completion of accurate timecards.Participate in various Human Resources initiatives and projects in support of Company goalsPerforms other administrative duties as assigned, such as employment letters.Adhere to GMPs and Health and Safety rules as outlined in employee handbookKeep work area clean and clear of hazardsReport any unsafe conditions, incidents or injuries to supervisor immediatelyUse all prescribed personal protective equipmentEnsure GMP’s and safe food handling practices are being followedMonitor and enforce GMP compliance by all operatorsEnsure all work areas are clean and organized and free of spills, water, wood, and debrisComplete incident reports for all FM/GMP incidentsPrimarily in contact with:Human Resources Manager - setting direction -weeklyUS Payroll Team – daily/as neededEmployees & Supervisors - daily/as necessaryGovernment Departments - as neededProspective Employees – as requiredTemporary Agency – weekly/as neededPerform all other duties assignedSkills, Experience & QualificationsSuperior analytical skills with the ability to identify problems before they ariseStrong communication & interpersonal skillsDemonstrated successful team problem solving, conflict resolution and planning skillsSelf starter with demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervisionGood organization and follow-up skillsStrong computer knowledge, including prior working knowledge with a HRISEducation, Technical Qualifications, Experience and Competencies Proficiency LevelRequiredCollege Diploma or University Degree in Human Resources and working towards a CHRP designation2-5 years experience in HR related field, preferably in a manufacturing environmentKnowledge of ESA, Human Rights Code, OHSA , and other related legislation pertaining to workplace Human ResourcesPhysical RequirementsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
