Job Description

Sika Canada is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Sika Group. You will have the opportunity to bring a unique skill set to our organization and innovative ideas will be welcomed with open arms.As Laboratory Technician, you will be responsible for:

  • Quality control testing including verifying samples, testing products and reporting results
  • Performing tests and analysis in accordance with different standards such as ASTM, AASHTO, CSA and others
  • Proper use of lab equipment, its maintenance, calibration and follow-up
  • Reporting any non-conforming results to team and management
  • Performing laboratory tests for research and development projects and communicating test results
  • Working closely with the Operations team with the goal of improving plant efficiency and reworking non-conforming product
  • Supporting the Sales team by communicating test results
  • Reporting technical results from lab work and/or job site data collected by the Sales team
We Need Your SkillsTo be successful in this role, you should:
  • Have a diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or Chemical Engineering Technology or equivalent
  • Have a valid drivers license with access to a vehicle for transportation to and from job sites when required (vehicle allowance provided)
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Have basic knowledge of concrete
  • Be able to lift up to 66 lbs. without assistance
  • Have a strong ability to problem solve, keep organized and show initiation
