Job Description

Working closely with the shipping department and Plant Managers the Logistics Administrator will expedite the flow of work and materials throughout Walters Plants, track shipping documents and enter the information into Walters EPR system.Main responsibilities will include:

  • Tracking material flow from Production to Blast/ Paint to Shipping yard to Site
  • Collecting loading summaries from various locations
  • Creating interplant loads in E2P Software
  • Tracking bundles for shipping yard. Tagging bundles with load #’s
  • Assist in locating pcs for division bundling.
  • Supplying clean up to date loading summaries after each load put into E2P for various loading locations
  • Verifying load accuracies (pcs counts)(tag check)
  • Pictures of each site load complete with BOL’s to filed electronically
Desired Skills and Experience:
  • Experience in shipping and logistics in a manufacturing environment
Knowledge, Skills and Competency Requirements:
  • Knowledge of the steel fabrication and construction industry, concepts, practices, and procedures
  • Knowledge of MTO Regulatory guidelines and other emerging legislation concerning transportation
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and workplace requirements
  • Organizational skills and the ability to be flexible in managing changing priorities
  • A team player, who can interrelate and operate effectively with peers and other associates within acollegial, yet demanding work environment
  • Effective problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
  • Effective verbal, written and listening skills
  • Nimbleness – able to react quickly to shifting priorities
  • Proven expertise in the following software – MS Office, Fabtrol and/or other equivalent system
