Job Description

A*BOUT GIZEH: *GIZEH Packaging is an international plastic packaging company, with offices located in Germany, Poland, France and Canada. Our packaging technologies include, but are not limited to, injection molding, thermoforming, in-mold labeling and off-mold labeling. GIZEH’s Canada location continues to grow and as such, we are looking to grow our team with enthusiastic and professional individuals who are looking for a fast paced and rewarding position.Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Production Manager will have daily responsibility for managing the workforce, productivity, cost control, continuous process improvement, health and safety, as well as employee training. In support of the company business plan to meet or exceed KPIs.Responsibilities:

  • Directly Leads and Manages Production, 4 teams 10-15 members each.
  • Works collaboratively with Logistics, Production Planning, QA Technician and HR to ensure company goals are met or exceeded.
  • Oversee the production planning, staffing, and day-to-day manufacturing operations in a cost-effective manner, accurately track and record KPI’s.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
  • Prepare and maintain appropriate production record systems.
  • Ensure the efficient management of operations of a multiple shift production facility and ensure the proper functioning of equipment identifying and resolving potential problems
  • Ensure product quality standards are met through inspections and material testing procedures.
  • Learns, over time, how to operate all plant machines, and how to trouble shoot
  • Create and drive implementation and ensure compliance and adoption of Standard and Operation Procedures
  • Develop and implement measures to continuously improvement production methods and equipment performance via programs like 5S and Kanban.
  • Analyze data drawn from production reports to identify possible improvements, reduce losses and the number of breakdowns as well as improve efficiency and product quality.
  • Communicate and apply company policies and procedures
  • Recruit, review and hire production team as required.
  • Motivate employees, be a positive source of influence, lead by example and encourage autonomous work by empowering employees
  • Develop and deliver employee training and development plans to ensure succession planning and employee retention
Qualifications
  • 5-7+ years of work experience in a production or operations management position (Preference will be given to candidates with plastic manufacturing experience)
  • B.S. in Engineering, Business Management or related discipline preferred
  • Strong Mechanical aptitude. Mechanically inclined with proof of experience with injection molding and/or thermoforming and/or blow-molding
  • Basic knowledge in PLC Logic Controls
  • Able to operate equipment, and proven track record of training and instructing others with little to no skills
  • Excellent and proven people leadership and culture change management skills
  • Ability and proven track record to quickly establish credibility and to develop and sustain excellent business relations both internally and externally.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office tools and SAP
  • Strong success track record of ability to plan, organize, implement, and inspire adoption of programs, processes, etc.
  • Dedication to proactive thinking, collaboration and communication

Production is running 24/7 in a 12-hours continental schedule. This role is designed as a Monday to Friday fulltime position; however, the right candidate has the willingness to work flexible schedules including nights and/or weekends if ongoing production demands.What we Offer:
