Job Description

The Tsartlip First Nation located on southern Vancouver Island is pleased to invite qualified applicants to apply to the permanent, full-time Referrals Manager position in our Stewardship Department.The Referrals Manager receives, reviews,organizes and responds to government and third-party requests for information regarding Tsartlip First Nation interests, rights and title within the Tsartlip First Nation territory. The Referrals Manager contributes to the overall success of the Stewardship Department by supporting internal capacity for information management, research and policy development.The position plays a critical role within the Stewardship Team for development and implementation of Stewardship strategies for the Tsartlip First Nation.Qualified applicants are invited to email their resume and cover letter (including salary expectations) to Lori Fitzgerald, CPHR by 4:00PM on Monday, June 6, 2022.Preference will be given to persons of Aboriginal ancestry.For further information about the Tsartlip First Nation and this position please visit www.tsawout.caEducation and Experience · Grade 12 graduation (Dogwood or BC Adult Graduation Diploma);· Degree or diploma in a discipline such as natural resources or land and resource management; and· 2 years of experience in one or more of these areas; or· An equivalent combination of related education, training and experience;· Minimum of 3 years’ experience managing, directing and leading employees an asset;· Experience developing, managing and controlling operating budgets;· Experience developing a variety of written reports, policy and procedures, and other documentation in accordance with organization directives and/or regulatory guidelines;· Experiences working with lands use studies;· Minimum of 2 years experience gathering and interpreting mapping and special data;· Minimum 2 years’ experience participating with community consultation or facilitation processes preferred;· Experience working with the First Nations Land Management Act an asset;· Project Management Professional (PMP) certification an asset;· Certificate from the Professional Lands Management Certification Program an asset;· Valid Class 5 driver’s licence and reliable vehicle plus a clean driver’s abstract and appropriate insurance;· Clean criminal record check required.About the Tsartlip First NationThe Tsartlip First Nation is one of five communities that constitute the W̱SÁNEĆ Nation.
