Job Description

JOB PURPOSE:Reporting to the VP Supply Chain, this role will provide project support to the Inventory, Purchasing, Logistics and Producer Services teams within the organization. By working closely with each team, they will support or lead continuous improvements. Through a proactive, structured approach with strong communication, they will ensure change is well understood and improvements increase our productivity and simplify our processes.WHY WORK AT CONESTOGA MEATS

KEY JOB FUNCTIONS / ROLES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Recurring Responsibilities
    • Lead continuous improvement initiatives in the Supply Chain team
    • Manage key projects to meet expected timelines and results
    • Tracking project progress across the department
    • Maintain regular communication with project stakeholders to keep them informed about project status and any changes
    • Working with the team to ensure we follow best practices and our standard approach when executing projects
    • Identify potential problems and work with project teams to develop solutions
    • Effectively use and support change management tools
    • Learn to use team software and systems
    • Recommend new system opportunities to improve efficiency
    • Provide backup support where necessary, to manage vacations or temporary increases in department workloads
This role will support a variety of projects included in our team goals. The projects currently required over the next 12 months will be:
  • Major tenders for supplies
  • Support the improvement of our purchasing process to implement key controls around inventory management
  • Manage the implementation of our trucking software and finalize our weekly scorecard metrics
Other Tasks
  • Follow the Conestoga WAY in the way you work with others
  • Identify and implement process improvements to eliminate repetitive errors
  • Lead and support the team in project and change management

  • Remain current with technical knowledge in areas of responsibility
  • Attend regular 1:1 coaching/update sessions
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 3-5 years in a Supply Chain role
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to use a computer and advanced knowledge of MS Office software
  • Able to interact in a professional manner and lead change
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills
