Job Description

Job DetailsWhat you will doAs the Technical Product Training in the UK&I, you will have a thorough understanding of Johnson Controls´ products, have a recognised industry background and be responsible for the training of all our Service and Installation teams and selected customers to provide the product knowledge to ensure compliance with recognised fire protection standards.You will work across the organisation and with key stakeholders in the business to design and develop the relevant training courses to meet the ongoing business needs, as well as completing individual technical assessments in the field with our Installation and Service Engineers to identify skills and knowledge gaps and further individual development opportunities.You will do this by becoming a subject expert for our business, teaching technical curriculum with our in-house technology and equipment, partnering with colleagues within the business, and other learning professionals to define the best approaches, bringing problem-solving and expertise to every class you have, and being open to learning new skills as you grow in this job.You will also play a key role in ensuring we have the right partnerships with training providers who are exceeding our expectations.How will you do it

  • Design and delivery of all Service and Install Engineer and client training.
  • Responsible for all training class preparation, facilitation and completion, including materials and classroom set-up/preparation, requesting log-ins and database access, all administrative functions pre, during and post-class, evaluation of training.
  • Presentation Skills; effective in a variety of formal presentation settings; one-on-one, small and large group facilitation.
  • Provide on-the-job coaching on selected projects.
  • Act as an independent technical assessor for all Engineers to identify skills, compliance understanding and knowledge gaps on an individual basis.
  • Incorporate training methods that support all learning styles in the delivery of training programmes
  • Work closely with the business to understand their training needs and develop yearly training plan.
  • Link with Global Products, Technical Product Teams and EMEALA L&D to ensure required product skills are met.
    • Drive usage of new learning tools and reporting processes
  • Ability to travel (typically up to 50%), determined by business need, but specifically when completing on-the-job individual technical assessments with the Engineers.

  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills
  • Self-motivated and able to thrive under pressure and function effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook & Teams)
  • Willing to travel nationally and to work remotely (50%)
  • Hold a UK driving license
Preferred
  • Working knowledge and experience of the Installation and Service of automatic fire sprinkler systems and other fire suppression disciplines/ experience with York Chiller or other industry-related HVAC Systems/ electrical Fire Detection products and legislation
  • Previous experience of developing training programmes
