POSITION TITLE: Heavy Equipment Technician - Permanent - 12 Months/Year - 40 Hours/WeekCOMPETITION #: 2122-22659-02SSCOMPETITION END DATE: May 02, 2022 12:00 PMLOCATION(S): Burin Bus DepotJOB TEXT:Reporting to the Supervisor of District-Operated Bus Services or designate, the successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and performing repairs on the fleet of buses and other vehicles owned and operated by the NL English School District. Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor. The candidate will also be responsible for inspecting and issuing reports as required by the District and Department of Digital Government and Service NL and all other agencies/departments having jurisdiction.Applicants must have completed high school and possess a Journeyperson’s Certificate as a mechanic (Heavy Equipment, Commercial Transport or Automotive) issued by the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador supplemented with experience in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair. Equivalent combinations of training and experience will be considered. Applicants will be required to obtain a valid Class 2 Driver’s License with airbrake endorsement.
